Korea's Growth Complex

In the article, Korea’s Growth Complex, parents in Korea really want their children to be tall. The parents of the children in Korea, thought that you should be tall in order to make it in life. However, there are many short successful people in the world such as Olympic gymnastics champion Shawn Johnson. On the other hand, Korean’s used to value what they saw as grittiness and determination in shorter people. Nonetheless, I totally disagree with the parents who think their child should be tall. In addition, I think it Is feeble that the parents don’t like the children’s natural height. Also, with using the stretching machine early in a child’s life, could probably lead to health problems in the future.

Veterans

Veterans shouldn’t just be honored on Veterans Day, they should be honored everyday. Veterans did so much for our country. They gave us liberty and safety for you and your families. Americans don’t honor these veterans as much as they should. Therefore veterans must be honored everyday.

Veterans who were in the war risked or even lost their lives for our security. Some of them gave up seeing their family’s everyday so we can keep ours. In reality they only do it for the peace and happiness for our country. However, these veterans are only honored annually. It’s just unfair that we would only spend a day honoring the people who fought and probably lost their lives for our country.

Veterans must be honored everyday. The next time you see a veteran let them know how much you appreciate what they did for our country.

Why Bin Laden Isn't Worth Worrying About

In the article, Why Bin Laden Isn’t Worth Worrying About, Robert Baer talks about how people shouldn’t worry about Bin Laden attacking the US again. Bin Laden was recently responsible for the Christmas bombing of a North West airliner, but again he was unsuccessful with the bombing. In addition, Robert Baer, thinks that with all the unsuccessful bombing al-Qaeda’s has done and how they left Afghanistan and Pakistan a mess with the hotel bombings, that it is clearer to the world that it is about time to get over Bin Laden and to start dealing with more serious problems of the world; such as Haiti’s 7.0 earthquake. However, I disagree with Robert, because I think we should all worry about Bin Laden attacking because usually it has to deal with someone’s life being at stake and that is very valuable my eyes.

Spontaneous Generation Proved Wrong

Do you ever wonder if living organisms can produce from nonliving matter in the blink of an eye? In the year of 1668, many people believed that exact same thing could happen to produce living organisms. However, that scientific theory was later proved wrong in 1859.

In the 1600’s through the 1800’s, a scientist created a experiment to produce mice. That experiment was to place a slightly dirty shirt and a few wheat grains in an open pot. Then you wait three weeks for this experiment to become successful. Did this experiment work? Absolutely! But how is the question? Spontaneous generation is the supposed development of living organisms from non living matter, but is that the real reason why the mice were produced in the open pot with a dirty shirt and wheat grains in it?

The answer to mice producing in the pot wouldn’t be logical to scientists if the blame was spontaneous generation. Because spontaneous generation produces living organisms from nonliving matter it wouldn’t be the answer. Mice are attracted to unclean things. Which would make them attracted to the shirt since it was not clean. However there just wasn’t a dirty shirt in the pot, there was also a few of wheat grains in there to, which mice love to eat. For the experiment to work, mice were just attracted to the pot and decided to burrow into the shirt and produce baby mice, including themselves to. Therefore spontaneous generation was not the answer to the mice developing in the pot.

Spontaneous generation was shortly proved incorrect in 1859. Now that you have wondered about spontaneous generation, you also know the facts about it too. Not any living thing can produce by itself with nonliving matter.

The Girl Who Loved to Dance

Once there was a girl who loved to dance! She liked all kinds of dancing but her favorite was hip-hop. She loved dancing so much that she danced every time she heard music. This girl was on the dance team at her school as well. She would sometimes make the routines that they performed in front of the school at basketball games. And of course many of those routines were hip-hop. She was the best dancer on the team and somewhat lead the team with the coach. The girl was in dance all through middle school and high school and decided to major in dance in college. Many schools wanted her to attend their college but she determined to go to UWM. When she graduated from college a number of producers wanted her to be in singers videos. After all those videos she became a famous dancer and singer because she always adored singing. Then she moved to Hawaii and got married and lived a happy and healthy life! :]

Iron Man 2

Over the weekend I saw the new movie “Iron Man 2”. If you love a movie loaded with action this movie is absolutely for you! “Iron Man 2” is not only a action movie, it also filled with comedy. Robert Downey who plays Tony Stark/Iron Man, is a natural humorous guy. Every line he says in the movie has a twist of funniness. Such as when he brings his CEO, Pepper, a box of strawberries to her office when she is very angry at Tony, and he forgets that Pepper has only one thing on earth that she is allergic to which is strawberries. Then he chucks the strawberries into the little trash can where none of the strawberries make it into the can. This movie has a lot of action with a twist of humor which is a great mixture for me. Is it for you? If so go and see “Iron Man 2”.

Dysentery Disease

I was rushed into the dysentery unit of the Richmond’s Chimborazo Hospital where twenty percent of all patients suffered from dysentery disease. Dysentery is a disease that kills the intestines with bacteria and parasites. The symptoms of dysentery disease are vomiting blood, fever, and severe abdominal pains, which were all the symptoms I had. The doctor plopped me onto the hospital bed. On one side of me was a man who looked horribly ill and on the other side there was a pitiable old woman who looked much worse.

The dysentery unit was awful, left to right there were people moaning and groaning with stomach pains. I vomited blood four times so far with the infection, the old lady next to me also vomits right in front of my eyes. Doctor Cedric talked about how during the first eighteen months of the historic Civil War, twenty-five percent of the sick Confederate soldiers of the Mississippi River suffered of dysentery disease. He also said that from November 1861 to October 1862 in South Carolina, soldiers endured 12,000 cases of dysentery.

Doctor Cedric gave me a concoction of castor oil assorted with opium, which was said to cure dysentery disease. I guzzled down the horrid, tasting concoction and tried to rest. However, it was impossible to rest in a putrid smelling place such as this, therefore I was forced to stay awake. The man next to me had to get a sponge bath because earlier in the morning he had vomited and had an accident in his hospital bed.

Unfortunately, the woman next to me had to be transported into another room because the infection was taking over her whole body which was very fatal. The man next to me was also getting worse and worse, soon he also had to be transported to another room. I overheard Doctor Cedric stating to a nurse that Ms. Scott has passed away due to dysentery disease which was the lady who suffered next to me. I prayed to God that I wouldn’t have to suffer the way she did.

I slowly became better and better. As soon as I knew it, I was out of the putrid dysentery unit. Free from all disappointment and negativity. What a dreadful experience!
